Quite satisfied with the end result. Been on the work for 3 days. The flowering banana tree is located behind Graphic Block B, near the printing room. Found the subject quite local and interesting for value drawing. We are to use pencils (all kinds, be it graphite, charcoal, conte, colour, pastel); I chose charcoal, kind of clicking with it. The texture created and the characteristic are easy to handle. I just might grow fond of it.
Value is the light and dark quality in a work. The real artist will call it chiaroscuro. Some big word to scare you off. Rembrandt developed the technique further and used it in most of his print works.
Today completed another assignment by Mr.Sharul. We are to explore form this time. However, he is a bit pushy this time, we have to hand in 4 pieces of work base on things at hand (no photography) and to show him the real subject. Value and texture are to be shown in our work. I only managed to do one. I spent too much time on MR. Khizal's assignment.
Got to catch up tomorrow, otherwise, he'll doubly punished us, then 8 will be the number!
