final project for term

Managed to make it on time to hand over all the final term projects. Three for drawing, 2 group works for 2D basic, one for visual presentation, and one more for visual communication.

Jianyen and I used an embroidery motif which we found on the net as the subject for the term project. We used acrylic on box board. Colour is bright and vivid, we wanted the liveliness feeling. We had to render texture later on using tissue paper and cotton wool (not visible on the picture) after we showed the lecturer who commented that the element of texture is lacking. If not because of the need of the assignment, we actually want it flat, planar. However, due to the assignment's scope , or shall I say, the restriction, we had to conform.

When I visited Aberdeen in February this year, I took some early spring scene pictures. Jianyen has transformed one of them into drawing. Here it is.
